André’s screen credits include the “Incredible Hulk”, “Blackout”, and the award winning independent film “Metal” which was featured in the 1999 Mill Valley Film Festival, Olympia Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival & Cleveland Filmworks. André can also be seen in the latest Lenny Kravitz music video. André is the President and Managing Director of Papastar, Inc. (www.papastar.com) a theatrical production company owned and run by him and his son, Jared “Choclatt” Crawford of “Bring In da Noise/Bring In da Funk.
André C. Andrée is a native New Yorker and is now a resident of the Bay Area for over 17 years. André began his theatrical career at the age of 12 when his father signed him up for Amateur Night At The Apollo. Andre began singing professionally in New York’s Greenwich Village nightclubs such as The Village Gate, The Other Side, and Marie’s Crisis. His first acting performance was in San Francisco in 1990 with The Lorraine Hansberry Theatre in “Blues In The Night”. André has appeared in other stage productions such as “The Dance On Widow’s Row” starring “Love Boat’s” Ted Lange, “Night Hawks”, “Jesus Christ Superstar” as Judas, “Godspell”, “The Chickencoop Chinaman” as Charlie Popcorn, and “Your Arms Too Short To Box With God”. Andre is also a returning performer at Lorraine Hansberry’s “Black Nativity" for the last six years in the roles of Narrator and Preacher.
